Mirror (September 29, 2015) was the first to report that Bipasha Basu was making her TV debut as the anchor of a mini horror series, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. The episodic show, which airs on Saturday and Sunday, has got an extension, but the 'Scream Queen' will not be in the second season, which kicks off in the first week of February.
The actress did not respond to our text message but producer, Priti Sinha, confirmed the news, saying, "We are delighted with the response to the first season. Bipasha, as the host, did full justice to her part and accentuated the stories week after week. But now we have Tigmanshu Dhulia as the creator of Season 2 and are looking at taking the horror quotient a few notches higher. The new format will not have an anchor. It has been designed to be an immersive experience with haunting visuals."
Tigmanshu has accepted the baton from Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who created this 26-episode scare fest for Vinay and Priti Sinha with around 20 directors, including Suparn Verma, Wilson Louis and Soumik Sen. He admitted the first season was led by Bipasha but reasoned his outlook on this season is different. "I want to focus more on characters, increase the overall shock value and make the treatment more involved. My intent is to redesign how differently horror can reach the viewer's home. This time evil is intensely motivated," he promises.
