Amitabh Bachchan who was loved by both critics and the aam aadmi in his portrayal of a cranky dad, Bhashkor Bannerjee, who is obsessed with his bowel movements in Shoojit Sircar's Piku last year, is gearing up for another father-daughter story.
The film will be directed by Vikas Bahl and will roll soon. Bachchan had enjoyed the director's 2014-drama, Queen, and was all praise for its leading lady Kangana Ranaut.
"When Vikas approached him, he gave the nod after one reading of the story. The filmmaker is currently developing the script further. Casting for the daughter's role is yet to commence but prep is on in full swing," a source close to the development informed Mirror.
Bachchan is currently in Kolkata shooting for Sujoy Ghosh's thriller TE3N, also featuring Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He will wrap up the film this month and then move to Delhi for Shoojit Sircar's upcoming social thriller. Anees Bazmee's Aankhen 2 will also roll towards the year-end.
When asked about his next, Vikas had recently joked, "Now who will work with me?" obviously referring to the box-office failure of his last film, Shaandaar.
Now, he can proudly say with a smile, "Big B."
