Saina Nehwal's wish that a biopic on her life should be made has finally come true, thanks to Amole Gupte. The filmmaker and his team recently met the world's leading badminton player and her family at the Nehwal residence in Hyderabad, and spent an afternoon discussing her life over parathas prepared by Saina's mother. “It's a good concept to have a biopic on a player. Particularly for youngsters, who get to see their favourite player's life - both the struggle and the success - on the silver screen,“ says a delighted Saina.

However the sportstar, adds that she won't be involved in the process of casting or filmmaking. “I am not at all involved with who is being cast or how the film will be made. I will be doing my work as usual, training and playing in tournaments, while the filmmaker will do his work,“ she states.

Saina says she has seen Amole's work and is confident that he will make a great film.“The fact that Amole Gupte sir, who has been associated with a number of critically-acclaimed films like Hawaa Hawaai and Stanley Ka Dabba, is making the biopic, speaks volumes. I do not know about other aspects of the film,“ she adds.
