Shweta Basu Prasad, who emerged triumphant from a controversy, has started life afresh. The actress seems to be trying to find a footing again and will be seen in her first project after the controversy — an episode of &TV’s horror series Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. Much like she did in real life, Shweta will get into a situation that will be just as tricky for her to get out of, on-screen. She plays a girl on the lookout for a hostel accommodation and finds a place in an establishment that proves to be life-threatening for her and won’t let her leave. Excerpts from the interview...

Why did you choose to return to TV with a horror series like Darr Sabko Lagta Hai?
Because of the interesting story line. I will be seen playing a positive character. It has potential for performance as an actor.

How was your experience shooting for Hostel?
Hostel was in the format of a short film more than a tele-series. The director Atul Kumar Dubey completed the shoot on the given days with availability of the location with perfection. Similarly, cinematographer Dev Agarwal gave his best.

Where did you shoot for it? Did you experience anything spooky while shooting?
We shot for the episode in Mumbai and no, I didn’t experience anything spooky.

Shweta ko kisse darr lagta hai in real life?
In real life, Shweta is scared of the media.

We hear you have keen interest in writing. Do you see yourself turning director for TV or films?
No, I will be focussing only on acting.

Your favourite horror film?
My favourite horror film is The Ring.
