Ekta Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput have shared a blow hot, blow cold relationship since the time he walked out of her television serial Pavitra Rishta in October 2011. Sushant, then went on to become a soughtafter actor with Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che (2013), but this rishta remained on rocky ground. However, in the last year this cold-war thawed and he met Ekta at one of her home parties and also expressed a desire to work with her.

Along came Mohit Suri's Half Girlfriend that is produced by Ekta's home banner. Sushant seemed like a perfect fit for the lead role and reportedly later on, Kriti Sanon was finalised. Everything had almost fallen into place, including a patch-up between the two.But then came the twist in the tale. The announcement of Sushant being paired up with the same actress for a completely different project - produced and directed by Dinesh Vijan - made news. What's worse, it was planned such that this new pairing was kept a secret until Dinesh announced his movie. Apparently, Ekta is upset with Sushant for this move.

Interestingly, at Ekta's Diwali party this year, everything between the two seemed hunky dory, and there was no inkling about the turn of events. This is not the first time Sushant has miffed his mentor. Previously, he had kept Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor on hold, as he was keen on doing Shekhar Kapur's Paani first.

We contacted Ekta and Mohit for their side of the story. Her production house reverted with a text message saying, “We have never announced or finalised the girl. So the speculation is baseless.“
