Mia Madre, despite having a touching plot, somewhere just doesn’t strike the right chord. The characters at times do touch your heart but in some scenes, their issues look a bit superficial and unconvincing. The film shooting bit is quite interesting though. Margherita Buy is quite talented while Giulia Lazzarini gives a touching performance. John Turturro adds a lot to the film. A great character! Average fare!
