Rumour mills are abuzz about Tannishtha Chatterjee dissociating herself from her upcoming Hindi film, Angry Indian Goddesses, touted to be Bollywood’s first female buddy comedy. Sources say the actress skipped its trailer launch since she was keen to go Down Under for the promotions of her international film with ex-Australian pacer Brett Lee.
Says a source, “The makers tried to ensure the presence of the entire star cast, but Tannishtha was more interested to promote her Hollywood film, Unindian with Brett Lee. Despite working out a date as per her convenience, she offered excuses and gave them a slip.”
With the film slated to release next month, the makers decided to go ahead with their plans minus Tannishtha.
The film’s spokesperson was unavailable for comment while a source close to the actress defended her, saying, “She had already allotted her dates to the Hollywood project with Brett Lee and was supposed to travel to Australia for the marketing campaign. She could not keep herself free for the Angry Indian Goddesses event.”
