Sonali tells us that it’s about her own experiences as a mother to 10-year-old-Ranveer. “It’s an easy-to-read book which talks about my experiences with him. There is so much about all of us I have put out there — little anecdotes and stories. I don’t think I have ever spoken so much about Ranveer anywhere so much! I want to share it with all those working mothers out there — women travelling to work in autos, cabs, trains and cars. It’s not an expensive book, so anybody can pick it up. I don’t want to be called a budding writer — but a parent. If the book sells, then I may continue writing. It all depends on how many people like it,” she smiles.
While she has been penning down her thoughts into notes and snippets ever since her son was born, the writing was completed in eight months. “Writing for me is a work of passion more than economic. I am not doing it for the money. I don’t want to have a grand Bollywood launch. Dr Indu Shahani, who liked the book, has written the foreword. My husband Goldie was the first person to read it when the first copy came. I had to show it to him because so much of our personal life is there in it. He never reads anything but told me he had enjoyed it as it was easy to read.” Has her son read it? “Not yet. It’s more for working mothers than children.”
