Priyanka Chopra has won the 'Best India Act' at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The star of TV series Quantico beat competitors, including Indus Creed, Monica Dogra, Your Chin and The Ska Vengers. PeeCee is now up against Diamond Platnumz, the winning act from Africa, for the title of Worldwide Act: Africa/India.

While talking about her nomination earlier this month, the actress had told Mirror (October 6), "It is a pleasant surprise. I've been such a bad mother to my music. I've ignored it for so long, juggling it between my films and Quantico. Once all this settles down, I'll be able to focus on it more."

To be hosted by British pop star Ed Sheeran and Australian modelactress Ruby Rose, the EMAs will take place at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy, on October 26.

Stars like Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding and Afrojack, among other stars, are scheduled to perform at the event.
