The lonely and neglected wife of Magik singer Aditya Shroff, Sakshi, has evolved into a strong, pragmatic woman in the sequel of Rock On!!. Prachi Desai, who played Farhan Akhtar's love interest in the original, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, is delighted with the way this character has acquired multiple layers.

The actress, who joined Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal on the sets of the Shujaat Saudagar-directed sequel in Shillong on Sunday, spoke about the character's makeover to compliment her new-found confidence.

"Shujaat, my stylist Shefali Shetty and I decided to chop off Sakshi's long tresses and give her a shorter hair cut in the hope that it would portray her strength on screen," says the 27-year-old actress who has graduated from a homemaker of the 2008 musical drama to an independent, working woman.

Buzz was, Prachi's only playing a cameo. She refutes this saying, "No, it's not true. It's an important role. I'm there from start to finish. It's a much better role than the previous one. I'm not associated with the band but I'm vital for the members," she asserts.
