Arshad Warsi loves animals — from rabbits (he had even
wanted to adopt one while shooting for a film) to dogs. Talking about
his love for animals Arshad says, “I have had pets for as long as I can
remember. My first pet was a squirrel, when I was in boarding school.
Then I have had white rats, a snake, a monkey, many dogs and wanted a
chimp. I still want to own a horse. At the moment I have a very old
dog, who is a mix between a golden retriever and a boxer Ninja. I wish
humans would leave wild animals alone, stop encroaching into their land
and world. Wild animals are meant to be in the jungle and humans in
cities. As an animal lover it’s heartbreaking to see images of animals
in the jungle being slaughtered for their skin, tusk, tooth, bones etc
for decoration or medicine etc, it just rips my heart out. Having said
that, I must add that, I am also against stray dogs. I feel animals can
either be pets or in the jungle, not on the streets.”
