Mirror (August 4) was the first to report that Shahid Kapoor had given the nod to Vikramaditya Motwane's urban thriller to be shot in Mumbai. Now, Mirror has learnt that the antagonist opposite him is none other than filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

"In mid-September, they shot for a day or rather one night at a nightclub in Juhu, and both Shahid and Anurag faced the camera," informs a source close to the production.

After that, Shahid has been busy prepping up for Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, a Casablanca-like love triangle set against the backdrop of the Second World War, which rolls in November in Mumbai and Arunachal Pradesh. This has put the brakes on Vikramaditya's film, tentatively titled AK vs SK. In fact, the title is lending itself to speculations that while SK is Shahid Kapoor, AK is Anurag Kashyap.

However, the source insists that this is just the working title. "But yes, Anurag plays an important role in the film. Vikramaditya's thriller will progress along with Rangoon since it doesn't require any special prep and will be shot guerrilla style in the city. Meanwhile, the hunt for the leading lady is on," he adds.

Anurag is not new to acting. He has made cameo appearances in films like I Am, Luck By Chance, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny and more recently, as the judge of a reality show in SRK's Happy New Year. He made a full-fledged debut as an actor in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Shagird, playing Bunty Bhaiya. Now, he will be seen as a bald Bhojpuri baddie with a handlebar moustache in AR Murugadoss's upcoming action thriller, Akira. The woman-centric drama features Sonakshi Sinha as a college student and lots of martial arts styled action. No one knows the specifics of his role in Vikramaditya's under-cover project but one thing is for sure, he won't look very different from the Anurag we know.
