Madhur Bhandarkar has known Vijay Mallya close to a decade now and he is a regular invitee to all his parties. The last party Madhur attended was last December on the occasion of Mallya's birthday at Niladri, Mallya's Mumbai residence. Vijay Mallya by this time was aware that Madhur was making a film on Calendar Girls in which Suhel Seth was playing Mallya. We have now learnt that it was at this party that Mallya anxiously asked Madhur about the film. Telling us about it, Madhur said, “Yes, it's true that Vijay asked me about the film and I told him you see for yourself. But he was very cool and gracious. Vijay is in London currently and will be back in a couple of days.“ We will wait to see if Madhur will show his film to friend Vijay Mallya on his return. Incidentally, Mallya's favourite photographer Atul Kasbekar is played by Rohit Roy in the film.
