Her love for fitness is well known. Whether it's chewing on wheatgrass shots or practising Pilates, the actress from Sri Lanka, Jacqueline Fernandez, keeps experimenting with new organic methods to remain ageless. And now she's penning the details of her new-age skin diet, which she has been religiously following for the last two months, in a book.
"It's called a skin diet but it's not about getting skinny. This is about maintaining the PH levels in your skin through a balanced diet of acidic and alkaline food," says Jacky, who is a vegan and always off sugar. The results keep showing after four weeks, she promises.
The 29-year-old actress is currently shooting for Rohit Dhawan's action-adventure drama, Dishoom, with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham. There's also a superhero fantasy adventure, Remo D'souza's A Flying Jatt with Tiger Shroff, which she is filming simultaneously. "All my costars are so fit and keep me on my toes. I'm doing a lot of action this year and need to be strong and immune to injury," she points out.
Growing up, her face was scarred with acne and pigmentation which seems unbelievable today, looking at her flawless complexion. "It all comes down to what you put in your mouth. The idea of the book came to me when I was asked to blog about fitness. I decided instead to compile my journey to no eye bags, no stomach aches and no eczema through 12 chapters of a book," she smiles.
The book details her everyday practices, like drinking a glass of lukewarm water with a spoonful of apple cider vinegar. Also, cleansing and toning with specific creams. "And never sleep with your makeup on. That is the biggest mistake," she says, sharing a final tip.
