Drishyam is riding high, having completed a successful run of over 50 days in theatres across India. Winning accolades from critics and having gotten the patronage of discerning cinemagoers, this family crime thriller, a genre that has hitherto been less explored by Bollywood, has left an indelible impression on those with an astute taste. Actor Ajay Devgn is happy that he received congratulatory messages from the industry and from his fans and well-wishers. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Drishyam struck a chord with the audiences from day one. However, the crowning glory is the fact that a film in this genre - without the brouhaha of typical naach-gaana - managed to dominate the mind space of people for a glorious 50 days. This is a rare feat for Bollywood movies these days.

A trade source says, “In today's time of quick changing tastes, only the rarest films manage to go beyond a bumper opening weekend. Distributors were pleasantly surprised with Drishyam that grew slowly but steadily to achieve a feat like this.'' The film's unconventional content of a father breaking barriers to protect his family worked its magic on the common man. Power-packed performances by two National Award-winning actors, Ajay and Tabu, has given it the status of being one of the breakthrough movies of the year.

Furthermore, Drishyam is in the fourth position on the prestigious online movie platform that Bollywood and Hollywood treat as its gospel. It is not only one of the Highest Rated Feature Films Released in 2015 category but the movie has got around 12,515 votes and the users have given it a rating of 8.9/10, which is rare. This proves the triumph of Drishyam on social media, too.

Everyone associated with the film is happy that it won praises and boxoffice collections that it rightly deserves.
