Call it coincidence that
Akanksha Puri, who makes her debut in Calendar Girls, has a couple of
things in common with the film's director Madhur Bhandarkar. Both
share their birth day, August
26, which they discovered after they started shooting. The movie's
production team had got a cake with Akanksha and Madhur's names, which
they cut on the set.
Another common factor is that the two are devotees of Lord Shiva. They visit the deity's Mahakaal temple in Ujjain as often as they can. And both wear the red thread from the temple on their wrists. The two also exchange their experiences of their visit when on set. And now with their film's promotions underway, Akanksha and Madhur are hoping they also visit the temple with their colleagues in the coming weeks.
