From achari chicken and prawn biryani to fruit salads and homemade granola bars, here's what B-town is munching on the sets

SALMAN KHAN: GIMME SOME CHICKEN
I have completely stopped eating sugar and packaged foods. Aerated drinks are also a no-no. Usually, there are five chappatis, vegetables and salad in my dabba, along with natural juice. While we were shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan every meal had a special chicken or mutton dish because everyone was a foodie, including little Harshaali Malhotra, who bites into a tangdi even in the film. This week, I'm in Karjat for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and am feasting on prawn biryani and marinated chicken curry. My food always comes from home.

SAIF ALI KHAN: SALT AND SPICE IS NICE
Since I was a child, I had a taste for kala namak. Even today, I carry black salt along to sprinkle over everything, from sabzi to fruit salad. And there's always some pickle in my dabba... aam ka achar. It adds some spice even to bland, diet food.

JOHN ABRAHAM: A TOPPING OF CHERRIES
I like being fit and work hard to be in shape. My dabba on the sets of Welcome Back, whether in Dubai or Mumbai, was filled with salads and dry fruits. There are also fresh fruits like cherries. And yes, carrot juice. Cheat days are rare, with friends and family on special occasions only.

VIDYA BALAN: LOTUS EATER
Brown rice and curd is a must in my lunch box, especially during summer. It is light, filling and has a cooling effect too. Actually, it's a meal for every season. I snack on lotus seeds and makhana between meals. My dabba reflects my South Indian upbringing.

SAQIB SALEEM: MOM, MUTTON BIRYANI PLEASE
My lunchbox is always packed with fruits. But my biggest thrill is when I open it to find my mom's home cooked khana. Mutton biryani and achaari chicken are my favourites.
JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ: GRILLED VEGGIES AND GRANOLA BARS
I relish the Moroccan cuisine-couscous and grilled veggies, which I prepare myself. And whether in my car or vanity van, I'm always munching on homemade granola bars immediately after lunch. Sometimes there's a blend of healthy fruits in curd too.
