Shahid Kapoor has taken his wife to London for a brief honeymoon. Rumours that it is a religious trip and that the families accompanying the duo, are untrue. It’s just a one-week honeymoon. Shahid has work commitments. The couple were not able to leave sooner because the actor was juggling the shooting of his TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded, the workshops for his next film Rangoon, and planning the promotion of his next release Shaandaar. But the devoted husband that he is, he ensured that his bride didn’t feel at any point that she was his second priority and that work came first. Says a source close to the actor, “He didn’t want to leave her alone even for a moment to give her time to feel homesick, lost, alone or miss her parents home or her maika.”

Adds the source, “Shahid is very sensitive to Mira’s needs. He’s been conscious of the fact that she’s been living with her family, and has never been alone. So Shahid made sure that he took her along everywhere he went. She accompanied him for his shoots, for his gym sessions. And he called his close friends over for dinner every night, so the house was always buzzing with people. They have also gone for romantic dinners by themselves. They haven’t been apart from each other at all.”

The source believes this was Shahid’s way of helping Mira settle down to a life in Mumbai, away from her family, during their first month of marriage. “He has been very busy before and after his marriage but Mira has not felt that at all.”

The duo will be taking a 15-day break in September. After they return, the actor will begin promotions for Shaandaar with Alia Bhatt, which is releasing on October 22.
