The official remake of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer, Knight And Day, Siddharth Anand's high voltage action thriller, Bang Bang, opened last October with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif stepping into the shoes of their Hollywood counterparts.

Now, Mirror has learnt that neither Hrithik nor Katrina will return in the next instalment, which is currently in pre-production. Jacqueline Fernandez has replaced Kat. They are currently scouting for an A-list villain. The film rolls next year with a Bollywood biggie taking over the baton from Hrithik.

Siddharth will however be directing the second film in the franchise, which is another cat-and-mouse chase. But it's not a continuation of the previous plot. "Like the original, the main character emerge from a mysterious background and the story unfolds through chase sequences," says a source close to the development.

According to the source, Hrithik Roshan was keen to kick-start the sequel, but has been busy with Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama, Mohenjo Daro. The 41-year-old-actor opted out last month.
