A recently conducted poll pitted actors Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra and Kriti Sanon as contenders to play Sania Mirza in a biopic. The buzz began with talk of Farah Khan helming such a project. The filmmaker denied the rumours, but Sania herself expressed an interest in the biopic and suggested Parineeti play her in the film. The poll saw DP win with an overwhelming majority. Deepika, a state-level badminton player, garnered 53.2 per cent of the vote, Parineeti 39.14 per cent and Kriti Sanon rounded it up with 7.66 per cent of the votes.
