Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan's
upcoming attraction might have a
Eid heavy subject at hand, but director Kabir Khan
has also infused enough fun elements in the film. This family
entertainer with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, traces the
story of Pavan (played by Salman) who vows to safely transport the
little Pakistani girl Munni (Harshaali Malhotra), whom he
rescues, to her home across the border. To conceal his
identity in Pakistan, Pavan dons a burkha.
Ask Salman about the scenes and he elaborates, “The Pakistani cops know that two guys and a kid are on the run. So to deceive them, one of them needed to wear a burkha. Pavan is the natural choice because he is the kind of guy who will give away his identity if the cops ask him who he is or where he is coming from.'' Elucidating more on the shoot wearing a burkha, the actor says, “It is the most difficult thing to wear on a shoot. You can't see well through it, nor can you walk easily in it. I kept tripping all the time during shoot. And if you are claustrophobic, then you'll be sweating inside. I have a mild breathing problem, so breathing inside the burkha was even more difficult for me. One day on the sets, I was eating something, and I tried eating it through the burkha. That scene was so funny that it was included in the film. Thank God, Kabir did not make me do any action scenes in a burkha.“
Bajrangi Bhaijaan produced by Salman Khan Films and Rockline Venkatesh, released worldwide by Eros International, comes on July 17.
