Drishyam has been generating positive buzz from the time the film's trailer was launched.More so as this Nishikant Kamat-directed thriller sees Ajay Devgn portray an intense character after a while. This time around, the two-time National Award-winning actor, known for his daring and novel stuntbaazi, indulges in mind games to overcome adverse circumstances instead of flexing his muscle. As common man Vijay Salgaonkar, Ajay will be seen taking on the police, outwitting them at every step.

Tabu plays the tough cop, IG Meera Deshmukh, in this film that has a nail-biting suspense tied to the end of an engaging plot. Interestingly, Tabu had liked this script immensely from the time she saw the original film in Malayalam. At that time, she had no idea that she would be offered the role of Lady Singham that had impressed her so much. Backed by a powerful script, the dramatic thriller has been successful in its South renditions as well.

In fact, the Kerala film industry's demigod Mohanlal, who won accolades galore for the Malayalam movie, wished the Bollywood team success for the Hindi version, saying, “Drishyam is a beautiful script that is close to my heart. I wish Ajay and the team the very best. I'm sure it will be a great success.“

Drishyam, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Panorama Studios, releases this Friday.
