How superstitious are our Bollywood heroines

It's not only about crossing fingers and the Number 13. Mithun Chakraborty won't attend film mahurats, Salman Khan believes in the protective powers of his turquoise bracelet, Indra Kumar would fly to Ooty to shoot a tree, SRK believes 555 brings him luck, Ranbir Kapoor swears by the number 8 and Ajay dropped the 'A' from Degvn to make his mom and the box office happy. B-town's beauties are superstitious too. Here's what makes them feel safe and lucky!

PRACHI DESAI: MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL
I never sleep facing a mirror. Growing up in a convent school, I was constantly told that a woman called 'Bloody Mary' appeared in the mirror after midnight. Many Catholics actually believe this and do not have mirrors in their bedrooms. I also don't wish to wake up at night to stare at my face... or someone else's... in the mirror.

PARINEETI CHOPRA: BLAME IT ON THE CAT
I had a traditional upbringing. I lived with my grandparents and they influenced me in every way. I believe that a black cat is a sign of bad luck. It's not only about a cat crossing the road in front of you. Even if I spot a cat nearby, it freaks me out and if anything goes wrong, I blame it on the cat. I know it's nonsense but I can't seem to change.

SHILPA SHETTY: FOLLOW THE KARMIC CALENDAR
I believe that anything good must be started during an auspicious period and always consult the Hindu Kalnirnay to pick a good day as per the calendar. I also believe in karma. Do good without expecting any returns.

VIDYA BALAN: GURU'S PIC AND BRACELET TO WARD OFF BAD LUCK
I always keep a photograph of my guru, Amma Amritanandamayi Devi of Kerala, with me when I'm travelling to a new place and wear her bead braclet to ward off bad omen. I also have her picture in my vanity van when I'm shooting to bring positivity. And I distribute prasad to my team on the sets to spread good luck.

SONAM KAPOOR: SUPERSTITIOUS TALKING ABOUT SUPERSTITIONS
I visit temples, attend family poojas and tie a kala dhaga around my ankle to ward off the evil eye, but I'm superstitious about talking about superstitions. It's a matter of personal choice and not meant to be made public.
SONAKSHI SINHA: DON'T SPEAK BEFORE YOU SIGN
I never speak about a film to anyone before I have signed on the dotted line. Other than the fact that it wouldn't be ethically correct, it's also because things haven't worked out for me earlier when I discussed it before and this has made me superstitious. So only those who are a part of the project know about it till things are confirmed.
