Tiger Shroff brushes off similarities between his Heropanti and Sooraj Pancholi’s Hero
Nayandeep Rakshit (DNA; July 27, 2015)
Tiger Shroff made quite the impact with his debut in
Heropanti last year. This year, his childhood buddy Sooraj Pancholi
takes the Bollywood plunge with Hero.
And like Tiger, Sooraj is also being labelled the new-age action hero, even though only the trailer is out so far. And the comparisons have already started. While Hero is an official remake of the Jackie Shroff-starrer, it is already being compared to his own son’s Heropanti.
Tiger avers, “You cannot compare anyone. Hero and Heropanti are different films. Sooraj and I are also different. Everybody has different approaches, a different take on things. Everyone is unique. So you cannot put down someone’s hard work by saying, ‘Oh, he’s doing it like him’. Don’t compare us,” he said.
Sooraj and Tiger have been childhood buddies. Sooraj considers Tiger a brother he’s known since he was five. Tiger, too, bats for Sooraj. “At the end of the day, we are part of the same fraternity, so we have to encourage and push ourselves.”
Has he watched the Hero trailer? “Yes, of course, I watched the trailer and I absolutely loved it,” he replied. Not just that, he also gave Sooraj his feedback. “He’s a friend of mine so I had to tell him what I felt. I congratulated him and his team and Athiya as well. She’s been with me in the same school,” Tiger told us.
