(Crisp) Movie Review: AHALYA by FENIL SETA

Sujoy Ghosh’s Ahalya is an immensely interesting 15-minute short film that entertains, seduces as well as shocks. The film might get a bit predictable for some but yet, the ending comes as a shocker and is very nicely executed. Radhika Apte steals the show with her sensuousness and earnest performance. Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee is terrific while Tota Roy Chowdhury too makes his presence felt. Sujoy Ghosh’s story idea, inspired from our epics, is promising and his fast-paced script and direction does total justice to the plot. Anupam Roy (Piku music director) provides an exciting background score. Do give this short film a try for sure!
