Soha Ali Khan has wrapped
31st October, a political thriller set against the 1984 riots triggered
off by the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her
two Sikh bodyguards. Soha plays a terrified Sikh woman, who along with
her husband, Vir Das, their twin boys and one-year-old daughter, dashes
from one end of Delhi to the other. The Tejindars are modelled on a
real-life couple and their journey. Shivaji Lotan Patil, who bagged the
National Award for Best Director for his Marathi film Dhag (2014),
decided to make the film in Hindi with a few lines of Punjabi dialogue
as no one would shell out Rs 10 crore for a Marathi film. They wrapped
it up in 65 nights, shooting in Delhi and Ludhiana. The film will have
its world premiere at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF 2015) on
July 18. Patil promises to now make films only in Hindi.
