For the Welcome sequel, Welcome Back, writer-director Anees Bazmee recently recreated Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace in Mumbai's Film City to shoot a special song, Tuti bole wedding di. The number features all the actors, including John Abraham, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Shruti Haasan, Ankita Srivastava, Naseeruddin Shah, Shiney Ahuja and Paresh Rawal.
Confirming the news Anees says, "Yes, we had shot for a day in the original palace but then realised we needed more people in the frame for this celebratory track. So, we recreated the interior of the palace in Mumbai and crowded it with junior artistes. We wrapped up the song in fourfive days last week and even Naseer saab admitted that it was a fun shoot."
The set was designed by art director Sailesh Mahadik. He took 20 days to complete it at a cost of approximately Rs 3.5 crore. "I had a few guests fly down from Abu Dhabi and they couldn't differentiate between the original and the replica."
