Sonu Sood will be judging a stand-up comedy show with the former Miss Universe

Sonu Sood who was applauded for his comic portrayals in Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year and Akshay Kumar's Entertainment will now be seen as a judge on a stand-up comedy show, Comedy Superstars.

"I'm really excited about judging a comedy show since it's a genre which has done well in the past and is a great platform for upcoming talent. As judges, when we interact with the participants we can learn and share a lot with them," reasons the 41-year-old actor, promising that the show won't be scripted.

He admits that he was approached for a couple of shows earlier too but shrugged them off because he wanted something that was entertaining and had not been done before. "I've always enjoyed doing comedies and have done a few down South. I love action too but even that, like Dabangg's Chhedi Singh, has some comic elements."

Meanwhile, Sonu's delighted that his fellow judge is the former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen. "I really admire Sushmita and the way she has come up in my life," he raves. "She will bring in a lot more comedy and glamour to the show. We've met her a couple of times but haven't worked together before so I'm looking forward to it."
