“Since both the films are being distributed by the same production house, it was decided that MI 5 would release here a week after its global release,“ reveals a source close to the development, adding that there was a strategy in place and the Hollywood flick took the hit in this case.
Adds the source, “Since, two big-budget action films releasing on the same day is not a good idea, it is a win-win situation when the parent company readily agrees to the shift in dates.“
However, the move has come as a surprise at a time when Hollywood biggies like Avengers: Age of Ultron are releasing in India a week before they hit the theatres in the US.
