Ravi Shastri has been trending on Twitter lately after being elected team director for India's upcoming cricket tour of Bangladesh. And Gautam Gulati is jubilant because he will be playing the left-arm orthodox spinner, who was equally handy with the bat, in mentor Ekta Kapoor's biopic Azhar.

A source close to the development confirmed this saying, "Yes, Gautam will be playing Shastri whose friendship with India's former cricket captain, Mohammed Azharuddin is an integral part of the film. He has been working on his physique for the past month so he looks more like a young Ravi Shastri. He has also been attending workshops and viewing interviews and videos of Shastri to try and imbibe his personality."

Gulati, according to a source, will soon take the field and start practising to play Shastri's famous 'chapati' shots.

The trailer of the movie has already generated plenty of curiosity. The film, being directed by Anthony D'Souza, rolls in a month's time with Emraan Hashmi picking up Azhar's bat.
