Stars only endorse two-minute instant foods, they do not necessarily eat it. However, the ones who are literally addicted to these noodles are the strugglers and the film crew.

Believe it or not, instant noodles are such a hit item on the menu of an Andheri film studio, that they are the most ordered item 24x7. Says the caterer, “If I sell 100 vadapavs and a 100-dosas a day on an average, then I sell 250 plates of noodles. Now, with the latest government order to pull out the two-minute food from shelves, we actually see dejected people roaming around in our compound.''

Mukesh Rai, a regular food supplier for film units, says that their lunch menus don't have instant noodles. But yes, it was considered a good breakfast and tea-time option. Besides movie crews, advertising teams also depended largely on these instant noodles.

Shankar Bhoir, who caters for several commercial shoots, says, “Two-minute noodles were the most dependable items. We would lug a microwave or hot plate along to our shoots and noodles would be cooked on the spot. Since the dish is served piping hot, it is a great hit as compared to other items like vada-pav and poha that are often made by us in our kitchens and then brought to the studios.''
