Welcome Back is indefinitely postponed and the film’s
director Anees Bazmee and producer Firoz Nadiadwala have varying
versions of why their film, originally due to release in December 2014,
was postponed to May 29 this year, will get further postponed, probably
indefinitely, given how things currently stand.
While Firoz maintains that the delay is due to special effects which require more time than earlier expected, Anees has a different story to tell. He says, “I’ve completed all my work on Welcome Back. Now it’s up to the producer to release the film whenever he wants to.”
The director feels his producer is waiting for the right price to close the deal for sale of the film in all territories. Says Anees, “Firozbhai is looking for a certain price. I leave the financial aspects to him.”
