All eyes are on Sooraj Pancholi as the trailer of his debut film Hero releases this week. The good-looking actor is known to be quite the dancer. And to cash in on that, the makers have shot three dance songs already. “He is a terrific dancer,” declares Ahmed Khan, who has choreographed Pancholi. He feels that Sooraj is possibly going to set a new benchmark with his dancing style. “We’ve definitely tried to capitalise on his strong points. Like we did with Tiger, Sooraj also has some great dance numbers in his first film,” he says.

DANCE KE LEGEND
The first song, a bar dance number is ‘very urban and peppy’. “We have already shot the song and it is called Dance Ke Legend,” Ahmed reveals. It is not a tribute to any dancing legend, he clarifies. “It’s to showcase Sooraj’s dance talent. He is fabulous in the song.” But the choreographer adds that despite the comparisons, Dance Ke Legend can never be Jumme Ki Raat. “We have tried to give our best to this song, but I don’t think it will reach the level of Jumme Ki Raat. Salman’s stardom is too huge. But one thing is for sure — Sooraj is here to become a star,” says Ahmed. Athiya Shetty will feature in the song as well, he confirms, “It will have Athiya too, but it is mainly Sooraj’s song. The hook line is on him. But it has no mass appeal, it is a little upmarket multiplex song.”

THE THEATRE NUMBER
“There’s one more song which is more of a stage song and the backdrop is more like a theatre. It’s very differently done with moving sets and all,” reveals Khan.

WILD DANCE NUMBER
Remo DSouza has choreographed this one. “This song initially featured Jacqueline and Sooraj. Remo says, “I was supposed to do the song. We had planned to wrap the shoot by the last week of April. But I haven’t heard from the makers of the production house. I can only talk when we plan it.” Recently, there have been reports of the song being dropped from the film as Jacqueline was busy with her prior commitments. However, it is now learnt that the makers want to keep the track between the young lovers, and not add a distraction like Jackie. So will this one be a solo track or with Athiya?
