Sushant Singh Rajput has come a long way from being a TV actor to a movie star. But becoming an actor was not always on his agenda. Much before he joined the industry, he wanted to be an engineer, even though he was attracted to the limelight. He says, “I love myself. Even when I wanted to be an engineer, I used to look at myself and say I am a star. I was a dancer with Shaimak Davar before I became an actor. I have also done plays, so, I am very comfortable looking at myself on screen.” But he doesn’t often like what he sees. “I am very critical about myself. I have a very strong opinion of myself. I am very ambitious and I have set very, very high goals. But the process of reaching my goals is enjoyable. The result too is, but it lasts for a very little time. For example, I always wanted to buy a Range Rover. When I came to Mumbai, while doing theatre, I used to roam in an auto and I used to think that this is one car I wanted. I got it, finally. And I was very excited, but only till evening. This just shows that once you get what you want, the magic just fades away, it just goes. It is just the process that has stayed with me.”
