He wears the ‘serial kisser’ tag proudly, but Emraan Hashmi wants people to peek beyond his pecks, too. “I have been called a serial kisser for some time now. A fair share of my films also worked well because of them. I understand people go to watch my films expecting kissing scenes,” he admits. Does he regret smooching for the screen? “I won’t disregard or regret doing anything I’ve done and I don’t have any reasons to,” Emraan shoots back. “But as an actor, I feel I have moved on. I am slowly inching away from that tag. I somehow have reached a saturation point now,” he explains.

He insists that his next with the Bhatts — Hamari Adhuri Kahani starring Vidya Balan, out this June, will be his breakthrough film. So there won’t be any kissing in this film. He won’t commit to a definite answer, but replies, “With Hamari Adhuri Kahani, I can assure you it’s a clean film. I am just taking slow steps to go away from what people associate me with,” he tells us.

Although there’s only about a month left for the film to hit screens, the trailer is not yet out. Emraan informs us that while he has wrapped the shoot, he has yet to complete dubbing for the film.
