Amyra Dastur's Bollywood
resume may not boast of any hits (her previous releases
include Issaq and Mr X) but she still seems to have some pulling power
left. The actress has replaced Aditi Rao Hydari in War Chhod Na Yaar
director Faraz Haider's next.
As Mirror had reported earlier (April 10, 2014), the movie titled Ticket To Bollywood, was to be directed by Vicky Bahri with Aditi and Pulkit Samrat in the lead. With a new director, the film now has a new cast too. Amyra will be paired with Kannada actor Diganth Manchale.
Confirming this, Faraz said, “I will leave for the UK in the first week of June where the film will be shot. Besides Diganth and Amyra, the film also features Vinay Pathak in a significant role.“ Interestingly, Vinay too is a replacement for Saurabh Shukla.
The film revolves around a director past his prime who is desperate to make a comeback. In a bid to restart his career, he holds a contest in London, offering the winners a chance at Bollywood stardom. “You can figure out from the name that the film is about ticket to Bollywood. It's a romcom with a dose of suspense. Along with the youthful ensemble cast, it will have some fresh faces too,“ added the director.
