Guddu Rangeela actor Amit Sadh paired with Sonakshi Sinha in Akira!

In A R Murugadoss’ next Akira, Sonakshi Sinha will be freshly paired with Kai Po Che’s Amit Sadh. While she has starred with younger actors before — Arjun Kapoor in Tevar, Ranveer Singh in Lootera, and Shahid Kapoor in R... Rajkumar, she is known by her roles with older leading men like Salman Khan, whom she started her career with (in the Dabangg films) along with other 40-plus gents like Akshay Kumar (in Rowdy Rathore, for one) and Ajay Devgn (in Son Of Sardaar and Action Jackson).

Amit’s role is being kept under wraps for now, but it is reliably learnt that he plays more than Sonakshi’s titular character’s love interest. Says an insider, “It is not the kind of romantic lead that Rajkummar Rao (in Queen) and Ali Fazal played (in Bobby Jasoos). Amit’s character propels the film forward. He is there from beginning to end.”

Amit, though tight-lipped about his role, reveals, “Let’s just put it this way. This is my first role where I don’t kill anyone nor get killed. It’s my first romantic role and I am having a ball shooting with Sonakshi.”

He is all praise for Sonakshi. “She is such a chilled-out girl. She has no airs about her. And is so focused on her work.” About being her toy-boy Amit laughs, “No, I’ve a lot more to do in the film, though I don’t mind being Sonakshi’s toy-boy.”
