Gurmeet Choudhary recently had fans asking for more as they saw him take to the dance floor with the item number Alif Se in the recently released film, Mr X. Composed and rendered by Ankit Tiwari, the song was choreography by Raju Khan. The actor recalls being pleasantly surprised when Mukesh Bhatt, one of the film's producers, call him to the studio and asked him to perform the item number. Gurmeet said, “I was busy finishing my schedule of Khamoshiyan, when Mukeshji called. It was just perfect because my song in Khamoshiyan had become a hit, and this is another feather in my cap.“

Considering item numbers are usually about beautiful women and sensuous moves, when asked how Gurmeet connected with this song, he said, “It's good that even men can lend glamour to item songs. Alif Se is a peppy number unlike the romantic tracks that the production house churns out.It was three days of hard work - shooting in the day and practising at night.“
