Few Bollywood actors have the knack of making the audience roll with laughter. The versatile Paresh Rawal accomplishes this feat with almost every role he has essayed in his career spanning over three decades. From Baburao in Hera Pheri to the atheist Kanjibhai in OMG Oh My God, Rawal has not just infused life into his characters, but also made them memorable.
Now, the actor is all set to tickle your funny bone and awaken your conscience with some profound questions disguised as witty one-liners in his upcoming satire, Dharam Sankat Mein. It also stars stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah and Annu Kapoor. This is the story of Dharampal (Rawal), a man torn by the dilemma of choosing between two religions. He will be seen playing a father, a maulvi and a pandit. Says Rawal, “The film goes into a series of hilarious events once I figure my true identity. It is an important movie wherein a good message is being delivered through a rib-tickling story.“
Asked about his illustrious film journey filled with a wide variety of characters, the actor maintains, “I'm fortunate to have got the opportunity to play interesting characters. I hope to continue entertaining the audience.“
Dharam Sankat Mein, presented and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and also produced by Trigno Media, releases April 10.
