The sequel to Subhash
Kapoor's National Award winning film, Jolly LLB, will roll
this August. In the original, Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly, fought
for the rights of six hit-and-run victims, the storyline borrowing from
the 1999 Sanjeev Nanda BMW case with some references to the
Priyadarshini Mattoo murder case as well. The next instalment in this
law-and-order series will not continue from where Part 1 left off.
Inspired by another, absolutely hatke real life case, Arshad Warsi
promises a more intense film.
“We will be shooting Jolly LLB 2 at a stretch for four months, in five different locations,“ informs the 46-year-old actor Arshad Warsi adding that Amrita Rao will not be returning as his lady love, Sandhya. “There will be a new leading lady who is yet to be finalised.“
Arshad hopes the film will be as thrilling as Che Guevara's Motorcycle Diaries. “I love that film, it is in a different space and time. I'd love for this film to portray a dramatic situation that changes Jolly's life forever. But that's not everyone's cup of tea, is it?“ he admits.
Fondly remembered as the quirky Circuit from the Munnabhai MBBS series, Arshad asserts that there will be few similarities between the two characters. “Circuit is a Mumbaikar: hardcore, crass and petrified of being beaten up. Jolly is more serious and curious about things around him. But both are over-smart,“ he laughs.
