It was great to see Dragon Blade as it’s a film that gets a release in India two months before its mainstream release in USA and other major markets! This is a historical action flick that deserves a watch due to it’s brilliant first half. The initial hour shows how people of different race and communities can come together and work and thrive peacefully. Daniel Lee has done justice while directing these portions and the best part is that it’s relatable even today. The second half however gets a bit clichéd and the film loses its novelty at this juncture. Nevertheless, it is engaging and the climax is worth watching. Yet, one wishes if the second half was as good as the first. Jackie Chan is fine and doesn’t resort to too much of action and comedy to keep the audience’s interest alive. John Cusack is dashing and Adrien Brody plays the villainous part well. Peng Lin leaves a huge mark. Worth watching once for sure and try avoiding the 3D version!
