After its success at the prestigious film festivals, including Cannes Film Festival and London Film Festival, and winning numerous awards at various cinematic events, The Lunchbox received a warm welcome at the recently held BAFTA in London. The film also became Bollywood's biggest grosser in a nontraditional foreign market such as Japan, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Germany, and is now all set for its television premiere on Valentine's Day.

The film revolves around the friendship between a middle-aged widower and a woman neglected by her husband. In a case of mix-up, the lunchbox meant for the latter's husband gets delivered to the widower, leading to an exchange of messages in his lunch box every day . Inspired by this, in a bid to engage audiences during the Valentine week, the channel roped in our very own Mumbai Dabbawallas, who made it a memorable day for around 50,000 husbands in the city. The husbands got an opportunity to appreciate their wives with a heartwarming message in the lunchbox, which was delivered by the dabbawallas. This journey will be filmed and put out on social video sharing site, capturing the best messages of the day.
