Mirror had earlier reported
(February 13) that Vivek Oberoi was co-producing a sequel to his 2002
debut film, Company, this year. Now, we have learnt that the 38-year old
actor will also produce two other films under his banner which
will be launched soon.
One of them features Suresh Oberoi playing his dad on screen for the first time. It is a social drama inspired by a real life father-son story.
Suresh Oberoi told Mirror that he was really excited about playing Vivek's father onscreen. “We've wanted to work in a movie together as father and son for a long time but nothing exciting materialised. We will lock this script in the next three days. Vivek will be calling the shots on this project,“ he informed, refusing to reveal any more details about the project.
The 68-year-old actor was last seen in Hindi films as the strict Punjabi father, Nirmal Oberoi, in Imtiaz Ali's directorial debut Socha Na Tha in 2005. More recently, in 2013, he played a superstar in the Kannada film Attahasa.
Before the film with Vivek rolls in May, Suresh will be seen in a small-budget Hindi film targeting mainly children. “I play an old man narrating his life's journey along with a child actor,“ says Oberoi senior.
Vivek is producing this film too but will remain behind the cameras this time.
