A day after a short circuit on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan's game show, India Poochega--Sabse Shaana Kaun, brought the shoot of the finale episode to a halt, a fire broke out in Goregaon's Film City on Thursday at 4:30 pm. At the time Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor were perfecting their moves for Remo D'Souza's musical, ABCD - Any Body Can Dance - 2.

The director's assistant who wouldn't give her name confirmed the news, saying, “The reason for the fire was a bulb which blew up in the ceiling and the butter paper stuck on it caught fire, sparking off a short-circuit. Within seconds the set was engulfed in flames.“

After a month-long shoot in Las Vegas, the team has been filming the last schedule with their three lead actors -- Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Lauren Gottlieb, in Mumbai. Prabhu Dheva, along with dancers-turned-actors, Dharmesh Yelande and Salman Yusuff Khan who debuted in the original film, were also present on the sets.

They were rehearsing for a dance competition which had the Indians battling it out with international troupes, when the fire hit the sets. “There were 700 junior artistes including several foreigners besides Varun, Shraddha, Lauren at the time,“ admitted Remo's assistant.

The fire quickly escalated and the whole set lit up by over a thousand, blinking blue LED lights, was up in flames before the fire engines turned up. “We called the fire brigade immediately but it took them a while to arrive and by the time they doused the fire, the entire set was destroyed. Until 6 pm we could only see the thick smoke, but thankfully, no one was injured.“
