Reunion with a kiss

Eight hours from Shimla, on a less-trodden path off NH 22, is the small town of Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh.

Director Divya Khosla Kumar had handpicked this location to shoot a song for her upcoming musical romance, Sanam Re. "The place has never been filmed on screen," says a source from the sets, adding that it snowed the day they started shooting and kept snowing the whole day, so the lead pair, Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam had to kiss in the freezing cold.

"This added an ethereal quality to the song but it also caused several problems. For instance, everytime the couple drew close, the lights would blink and go off or they would get the shivers, literally, and it would be a 'Cut'."

The kiss was eventually canned in two retakes, while the song stretched through the day. The film revolves around two lovers who seperate in their teens and reunite years later.
