Akki gets fighting fit

Karan Johar recently announced an Independence Day release for Brothers. And on Sunday evening, Mirror lensman Raju Shelar spotted one of the two brothers, Akshay Kumar (the other is Sidharth Malhotra), filming at Worli fort. The scene involved Akki preparing for a pivotal fight. "On the top of a a hillock, a house has been built with an outdoor gymnasium where Akshay's character, an aging fighter, is seen working out," informed a source from the unit. Director Karan Malhotra also canned a rope-climbing scene which ends with Akki scaling a wall.

"An international crew has been flown in to monitor the stunts. The trainer has put Akki on a weight-specific diet," the source added. However, not everyone is pleased with the star's presence in their vicinity. "They've been shooting day and night and that has caused much inconvenience to us," a local resident grumbled. An official remake of the 2011 Hollywood hit Warrior starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton, Brothers also features Jacqueline Fernandez.
