Dancer-turned-actor Salman
Yusuff Khan is looking for ward to his two forthcoming films, where he
plays the lead.
After ABCD - Any Body Can Dance, he has been signed on by Remo D'Souza once again for a dance-based film. The movie, which will be shot in Kashmir and Goa, has him paired with Lauren Gottlieb. Calling it 'a love story with a tadka of dance', Salman says, “It goes on floor in mid-March. We want to take ballroom dance to another level with this film.“
His other film, Freedom, has the actor playing a drug addict. “My characters in both these films are drastically different. Since Remo's is a dance subject, it's home ground for me. On the other hand, my role in Freedom is challenging as I have never taken drugs or tasted alcohol in my life. I spent few months researching the subject. I learnt how to hold a cigarette and take a drag, so that it didn't look amateurish. I practically lived the character for two months,“ says Salman, who has also choreographed the songs in the movie.
However, dance remains his first love. “I will continue dancing and choreographing, but I enjoy seeing myself on the big screen. I had been offered some television serials after my reality show, but I turned them down as I wanted to focus on movies.I even did theatre to improve my acting skills,“ he concludes.
