Ranbir Kapoor is all set to step into his father Rishi’s shoes with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, quite literally, according to sources. An insider insists the film is an updated Doosara Aadmi, the 1977 film by Ramesh Talwar. The young actor will reprise the role Rishi played in the film.

Doosara Aadmi was about a bereaved career woman played by Raakhee Gulzar, who gets attached to a much younger man (played by Rishi) who resembles her dead lover. RK plays Rishi’s role, Anushka plays the girlfriend while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays Rakhee’s part.

Comments the source, “Getting permission to remake Doosara Aadmi must not have been a problem for Karan Johar since the 1977 film was produced by his mentor, Yash Chopra.”

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is something that Anushka’s dying to start shooting. The film is set for a 2016 release and also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. “This is one film I am really looking forward to shooting. And it is a brilliant casting for sure”. While there have been reports that ADHM is a torrid love triangle between Ranbir, Anushka and Aishwarya’s characters, Anushka rubbishes all rumours. “It’s not a love triangle that way at all”, she confirms.
