The cult film Sholay that was released 40 years ago is making a comeback, but this time in a four-part animated franchise for kids. Called Sholay Adventures, the film to be aired on Pogo will have Jai and Veeru in action, but as eight-year-olds, who are out to save the world from the quintessential villain Gabbar. Says Krishna Desai, Executive Director & Network Head — Kids, Turner India “While we have made changes to the overarching plot, we have retained the essence of the theme that revolves around friendship and loyalty. Sholay Adventures brings back best friends Jai and Veeru but as eight-year-old witty and brave boys who are on their way to their Uncle Thakur’s village of Ramgarh to spend their school vacation. Where in the original movie Thakur Baldev Singh is a retired officer, here he is the leader of a secret government organisation.”
