Jacqueline Fernandez says that she had to work on her voice modulation for Roy, in which she has a double role. Director Vikramjit Singh's decision to resort to sync sound in order to give this noir film its vintage feel added to her plight. “Roy is a film with a lot of dialogues and since Vikramjit had decided on making it with sync sound, it became more difficult for me. My Hindi diction was the least of my problems; the biggest challenge was to get right separate ways of speaking for my characters - Ayesha (filmmaker) and Tia (art enthusiast). The two have starkly different ways of speaking because they aren't twins,“ says the actress.
